My Mutant Frog: SFX
My Mutant Frog: SFX is a collection of NES-style 8-bit sound effects inspired by the game Blaster Master, covering a wide range of action-focused and environmental sounds drawn from its underground combat and exploration.
This pack includes weapon shots, enemy hits, damage and defeat sounds, growls, jumps, doors, explosions, and yes, mutant tongues, alongside other creature and mechanical sounds used throughout the game’s stages.
Each sound effect is provided with several closely related variations, giving you alternate sounds that keep the same character and function. All sounds are created from scratch using original synthesis and sound design techniques, capturing the character of the original hardware without sampling or copying any game audio.

More Sound Info
Some of the sound effects in this pack recreate a distinctive behavior of the original hardware, where intentional throttling of the sound engine was used as a sound design technique, resulting in a low, growling tone. This effect was often used for vocal-style sounds, such as miniboss pain screams, as well as for organic movements like the infamous giant frog tongues.
In addition to these effects, a wide range of tonal shaping and noise-based techniques were used throughout the pack to create the diverse collection of weapon, creature, and environmental sounds.
